Major improvement plans for Thornwood Roundabout and South Street in West Glasgow Glasgow City Council has a public consultation open now to seek your opinion on improvement plans for Thornwood Roundabout and South Street. This is a key connecting link between the communities of Whiteinch, Thornwood, Broomhill and Partick, and is well known to be dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists, bus users and drivers. The changes are urgently needed. We are pleased the council has listened to the needs of the community, and think the designs will improve safety and accessibility for all. These include signalised pedestrian crossings at the roundabout, added greenery, segregated cycle lanes and improved bus stops. Please take 5 minutes to respond to the consultation before the deadline Sunday 7 December 2025. Our recommendations for responding: Question 9: Please tell GCC that the quality of walking and cycling paths in Thornwood is Very Poor Question 10: Please tell GCC that you do not think there are enough safe and accessible crossing points Question 13: The community has managed to get 5 brilliant interventions into the designs. Please Strongly Agree with the introduction of all of these.
