Glasgow’s Liveable Neighbourhoods What are Liveable Neighbourhoods? Liveable Neighbourhoods is a Glasgow City Council project bringing aspects of the 20 minute neighbourhood concept to Glasgow. Based on four main themes, the project aims to bring social, economic and environmental benefits to communities. Glasgow City Council also hopes to tackle high carbon emissions from transport by improving opportunities for walking, wheeling and cycling in every area of Glasgow. The four main themes of Liveable Neighbourhoods are: Local Town Centres Everyday Journeys Active Travel Streets for People The Liveable Neighbourhoods project is being conducted in several stages, or ‘tranches’, across the city. Glasgow City Council are working with architecture practices and local communities to create ‘Liveable Neighbourhood Plans’. These plans aim to identify existing and new projects in each area of Glasgow which align with the four themes above. Yoker to Whiteinch Liveable Neighbourhood What stage is this project?
