What is it?

Our Community Travel Diaries project aimed to build a picture of what it’s like to get around in West Glasgow (Scotstoun, Whiteinch, Jordanhill, Broomhill, Kightswood, Yoker and Thornwood), whether it’s for pleasure, work, education or care needs. We wanted to know how we can support our community to access sustainable transport* and active travel** in the area.

*We use ‘sustainable transport’ to refer to all modes of public transport as well as taxis and shared transport such as co-wheels.

**We use ‘active travel’ to refer to modes of travelling such as walking, wheeling, scootering and cycling for all or part of a journey.

What did it involve?

Filling out a travel diary involved recording the main mode and reason for your travel, as many days as you can over a two week period. At the end of the two weeks, we offered free, tailored support to help our community access sustainable or active modes of transport.
